Overview

We are looking for a Sales Consultant that can thrive in a demanding and fast pace environment to sell new & pre-owned vehicles at dealership standards for gross profit, volume and guest satisfaction.  This is a full time position with a very robust commission pay plan.  Our Sales Consultants get to work with an amazing team and by working for Longo Lexus, they are surrounded by only the best.

Responsibilities

The Sales Consultant must be able to do the following on a day-to-day basis:

  • Generate business through daily business traffic and outside sources
  • Assist guests as they enter the dealership showroom or sales lot
  • Assist guests in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully and providing selection options
  • Explain fully product performance, application, benefits and offers test drives to all prospects
  • Close sales by overcoming objections and negotiating price
  • Introduces guests to dealership operations, including the service and parts departments, to emphasize to guests the quality and efficiency of the dealerships service operations
  • Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to guest satisfaction
  • Maintain a prospect development system.
  • Stay abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc., and their benefits to guests
  • Write complete sales orders, process paper work, explains warranties, provisions and financing in accordance with established dealership policies
  • Follow-up with Finance to make sure all stipulations for finalizing the paperwork is completed
  • Maintain and achieves the sales and guest satisfaction objectives set by management
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by management
  • Maintain high ethical standards in all actions 
  • Maintain professional appearance at all times

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the ideal candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should possess:  

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one (1) year sales experience in the automobile industry or equivalent
  • Knowledge of vehicle leasing principles
  • Proficient in basic mathematical concepts (such as add, subtract, divide, multiply, and percentages)
  • Must fully understand equity values and depreciation; and laws that govern retail automotive sales
  • Ability to coordinates activities with other employees (team player)
  • Must be able to read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; learn and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales
  • Ability to use good judgment in challenging situations and be highly attentive to detail with excellent follow-up skills
  • Must be fingerprinted and obtain a Sales Occupational License and must have a California Driver’s license and maintain an acceptable and safe driving record
