Overview

The Valet is responsible for moving service guest vehicles to ensure smooth and efficient traffic flow through the facility, to increase guest convenience, and to maintain an orderly service parking area.

 

INITIAL INTERVIEW PROCESS

Responsibilities

  • Do the right thing!
  • Inspects vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice.
  • Compares serial numbers of incoming vehicles against invoice.
  • Catalogs and stores keys.
  • Moves vehicles, as directed by management.
  • Prepares and delivers sold vehicles to guests.
  • Makes sure all the vehicles in lots are kept locked.
  • Drives vehicles from the designated lanes to their designated lots.
  • Ensures all lots are kept neat and organized manner.
  • Installs and removes disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags in all the vehicles brought in for service.
  • Assists in moving disabled vehicles in or around the lot.
  • Retrieves guest vehicles from the parking lot.
  • Delivers and picks up guests, as needed.
  • Helps maintain a professional appearance of the dealership and the courtesy van.
  • Inspects each vehicle for lot damage that may have occurred during the vehicle’s stay in the service department.
  • May record any external vehicle damage (scratches, dents) and vehicle information on check-in sheet and submits to designated personnel.
  • Follows up with appropriate personnel to ensure guest concerns were resolved.
  • Helps maintain a professional appearance of the sales, service department, and courtesy van.
  • Secures the courtesy van on premises, usually inside the shop at the end of the day.
  • Assists Sales, Pre-Owned, Service and Parts departments with duties for the lot and/or inventory.  
  • Merchandizes lot with new and used inventory.
  • Keeps the lot looking clean, vehicles clean, all vehicles should have clean appearance
  • Locks gates upon open and closing hours.
  • Takes vehicles to auction or picking up from wholesalers and auction.
  • Assists with deliver or pick up dealer trades.
  • Assists with large events, including preparation, organizing, setting up. Offsite events and dealership location.
  • Assists in all areas of the dealership as needed.
  • Follows all company safety policies, operations and practices.
  • Maintains assigned workplace in an organized and clean manner.
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
  • Maintains professional appearance at all times.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual should possess:  

  • A high school diploma or equivalent desired;
  • A minimum of six (6) months customer service experience, desired;
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission, coordinate activities with other employees; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
