Overview

We are looking for a candidate that can thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment. The Express Lube Technician is responsible for performing minor repairs and inspections on vehicles in a quick thorough manner, as assigned, and in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and standards.

 

The Express Lube Technician is also responsible for communicating with the management team, service consultant and the guest at all points of service repair. This is a full-time position, our Express Lube Technicians get to work with an amazing team and by working for Lexus of Stevens Creek, they are surrounded by only the best.

 

The Express Lube Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $18.75.

Responsibilities

  • Performing oil changes on guest vehicles
  • Inspecting oil, cabin, air filters, and vehicle fluid levels and replaces or replenishes as necessary
  • Checks tire pressures and adds air, as needed
  • Rotates tires and inspects brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs
  • Performs a thorough check of guest’s vehicles, refers needed repairs and preventive maintenance to Service Consultant
  • Documents all work performed on repair order and inspection sheet
  • Operates and maintains in good condition all lubrication equipment
  • Assists the service department as needed
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Maintains assigned workspace organized and clean
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Automotive Program/School preferred
  • A minimum of one (1) year automotive repair experience, desired; or a combination of education and experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance required
  • Fully proficient in basic mathematical principles and application (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentages)
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles; determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
  • Must have great attention to detail and ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language
  • A California driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record are required

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual will be required to:

  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
  • Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Operating motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
